Build a brand name shortlist
You check six names in a sitting and remember none of them by evening. Save the ones worth keeping — each name holds on to its domain and its social handle status, and both get re-checked when you come back.

Notes
- Where are my saved names stored?
- In your browser, on this device. There is no account to make and nothing is uploaded, so the list is private to you. The trade-off is that it doesn't follow you to your phone, and clearing your browser data clears the list — copy it out before you do that.
- Why does a name save the handles as well as the domain?
- Because a name you can't use on Instagram is not really available, whatever the .com says. Most people checking a business name are going to need the handle too, so both statuses are stored against the name and shown together on every row.
- Does the list go stale?
- Names get re-checked when you open the list, as long as their last check was more than half an hour ago. If a domain you saved has been registered in the meantime, the row updates to show it — that's the part a static bookmark can't do for you.
- How many names can I save?
- Twenty-five. That is deliberately not unlimited: a shortlist that holds a hundred names is a longlist, and it stops helping you decide. If you hit the cap, remove the ones you already know you won't use.
- Can I get the list out of the browser?
- Yes — Copy list puts every saved name and its current status on the clipboard as plain text, one name per line. Paste it into a doc, a message to your co-founder, or wherever the actual decision is happening.
