Is this a good domain name?
Type a domain and get a score out of 100, with a plain reason for every point. We'll also tell you straight away whether it's still free to register.
No extension? We'll score it as a .com.
- What makes a domain name good?
- Short, easy to say, easy to spell after hearing it once, no hyphens or numbers, and a .com where you can get one. Those are the things that decide whether people remember it and type it correctly, so they're what the score measures.
- Is the score the final word?
- No. It checks the things that make a name easy to remember and type. It can't tell you whether the name fits your brand or whether you like it. Treat 80 and up as safe ground, and below 60 as worth a second look.
- Why does .com score higher than other endings?
- Because people type .com without thinking. If you own brightloaf.co and someone else owns brightloaf.com, a share of your visitors will end up on their site. Other endings work fine, just expect to say the ending out loud more often.
- What if the name is already taken?
- We check a few close versions, like adding get or hq, or a different ending, and show the ones that are still free. Tap Check it on any of them to see whether the matching social handles are free too.
