Notes

How is domain age calculated?
From the registration date in the domain's public WHOIS record to today. That date is set the first time the domain is registered, so it reflects the domain's life rather than how long the current owner has held it.
Does domain age affect SEO?
Google has said age on its own is not a ranking factor. What correlates with age is everything a domain accumulates over time — links, content, and history — so an old domain with no history carries no advantage.
Why does an old domain sometimes show a recent registration date?
If a domain lapses and is re-registered, most registries reset the creation date. The record shows the current registration, not the original one.
Why is there no age for some domains?
Some country-code registries, including .de and .eu, don't publish a creation date in their public records. Nothing is wrong with the domain — the data simply isn't there to read.
